So, I’m not really in touch with anything that’s going on in the Silmarillion fandom, but m’dash has posts about Beren and Lúthien Day, and that is something I absolutely want to celebrate. So here’s a quick sketchy redraw of the first Beren and Lúthien art I remember drawing, at least 15 years ago, of them trying to sneak out of Angband with a Silmaril.
At the event I attended tonight there was this singer, and she was beautiful. As she sang the image of Luthien took form, and I had to draw her.
I imagine that the culture of Doriath has more of an Indian and African look, where as Valinor is more Egyptian, Inca, and middle eastern.
Sketches (I’ve lost my pencil. there’s about 20 pages of crappy pen sketches on my desk uhhhh *headache)
Luthien doing some Seek and Destroy, Thingol, dances, Melian, the Coat. I’m moving soon, this might be the last you hear of me for a little while. bless xo
