Indis the Fair

7/?: Women of the First Age of Middle-Earth
Indis is a Vanyar, from Valinor, with the characteristic golden hair of her people. She was Finwë’s second wife, and the second Queen of the Noldor. She was the mother to Findis, Fingolfin, Irimë, and Finarfin.
I wish I knew more about her— and basically the entire situation surrounding Finwë’s remarriage. What was she like?
Round up post of all the lady elves I drew for Legendarium Ladies April!
…looking at them all collected, I now notice that four of the five married into the house of Finwe. Huh. Anyway, top to bottom, Miriel Therinde, Indis, Nerdanel, the unnamed lady who married Curufin, and Lalwen.
Haven’t decided who I’ll be working on next– as always, taking suggestions, if there’s any elf people are particularly anxious to see!
Guess who is hyped about drawing a long genealogical line of beautiful people ?
The Silmarillion aesthetic | Indis the Fair
had loved Finwë in her heart, ever since the days when the Vanyar and
the Ñoldor lived close together. In one of his wanderings Finwë met her
again upon the inner slopes of Oiolossë, the Mountain of Manwë and Varda; and her face was lit by the golden light of Laurelin that was shining in the plain of Ezellohar
below. In that hour Finwë perceived in her eyes the love that had
before been hidden from him. So it came to pass that Finwë and Indis
desired to be wedded
Finwë loved her greatly, and was glad again.
